This policy explains how Time To Journey uses cookies and similar technologies on our website www.timetojourney.dk, and how you can control them. It applies to visitors from every country, and we apply the strictest applicable standard (the EU/UK approach) to everyone.
The Website is operated by Time To Journey, Østerled 1, DK-2100 København Ø, CVR/VAT no. 28195338, +45 2685 8683. We are the data controller for personal data collected through cookies on our website. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data more broadly.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags, local storage and SDKs, work in much the same way, and we refer to all of them as “cookies” in this policy. Cookies can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (kept for a set period), and “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by another company).
We group cookies into four categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are set automatically; all others are set only after you give consent.
| Category | Purpose | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Make the Website work: security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choices, form submissions | No |
| Preferences | Remember choices such as language or region. Not currently in use. | Yes |
| Statistics / analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve it (e.g. pages viewed, traffic sources) | Yes |
| Marketing | Measure campaigns and show relevant content on other platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Meta, Google Ads). Not currently in use. | Yes |
The table below lists the specific cookies in use.
| Cookie name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ttj_consent | Time To Journey | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie choices | 12 months | First-party |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google (Analytics) | Statistics | Distinguishes visitors and measures usage. Set only if you accept statistics cookies | Up to 2 years | Third-party |
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the following:
Consent is requested through our cookie banner when you first visit. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, nothing is pre-ticked, and the Website remains usable if you refuse non-essential cookies. We record your choice and ask again after 12 months or if our cookies change materially.
If you are elsewhere, including the United States, we offer the same choices regardless of local requirements, and we honor opt-out preference signals as described in section 7.
Some cookies are set by third-party providers who may use the data for their own purposes under their own privacy policies. The provider we currently use is Google (Analytics). If we add others, for example Meta Platforms, LinkedIn or embedded video and scheduling tools, we will update this policy and the table above. We do not sell your personal data.
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data of people in the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where the recipient is certified) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum where relevant). You can request more information using the contact details in section 10.
EEA, UK and Switzerland. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Denmark this is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.dk); in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
United States. Depending on your state (e.g. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access, correct and delete it, to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. Cookies used for advertising may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some state laws, which you can opt out of through the Cookie settings link or a GPC signal.
Elsewhere. If your country (e.g. Canada, Australia, Brazil, Switzerland, Japan or South Africa) gives you additional rights over your personal data, we honor them. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
Retention. Each cookie’s lifetime is shown in the table in section 3. Data collected through analytics and marketing cookies is kept for no longer than 14 months unless a shorter period applies.
Children. The Website is aimed at adults and travel professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes. We may update this policy when our cookies or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If changes are material, we will ask for your consent again.
